California establishes marine reserves!

After 7 years of study and negotiation, the California Department of Fish and Game protects 8% of central coast waters and restricts take from another 10%. 

"This is about protecting the most precious places we have underwater, just as we did decades ago on land." said Karen Garrison of the Natural Resources Defense Council. "What we have underwater is as precious as what we have in Yosemite." Read more...

alternative transportation program

Light & Motion is proud to announce that AMBAG (Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments) has recognized Light & Motion for their outstanding promotion of alternative transportation programs. Light & Motion encourages employees to use alternative transportation through a parking cash-out program, causal dress code, on-site shower, inside bicycle parking, and loan-to-own programs.

Ron finished a few projects in nearby Carmel, then stopped by Light & Motion for a Tetra test dive. We took Ron to San Carlos Beach for a dive at Breakwater Cove. Guided by our Service Manager Jon Baker, Ron had a great dive and even took a few pictures with a Tetra.

After much work, Light & Motion's Tetra Digital Still Housing for the Olympus 3030 digital camera  is ready to go. Shipping started on Oct 25 and orders will be filled in the order that they were placed.

Light & Motion introduces the redesigned Stingray II underwater video housing for Sony's Digital 8 camcorders. Stingray II housings are available for Sony TRV103, TRV110. 6th Annual Monterey Shootout 2000
For three days, August 18 - 20, it was SCUBA, seminars and shooting.
The Monterey Shootout is both a workshop and competition for both underwater photographers and videographers. Almost every topic is discussed from basic "How To" for beginners to film festival highlights of Norbert Wu, Jay Ireland, Georgienne Bradley, Charles Seaborn and Andy Sallmon.
Light & Motion supports the Our World Underwater Scholarship Society.
