Light & Motion Donates Light Systems to Help Save Wildlife

During the first week of November, San Francisco Bay was polluted by 58,000 gallons of oil that was dumped after a 900-foot container ship rammed into a tower of the Bay Bridge killing hundreds of shorebirds and contaminating miles of coastline.

A grass roots clean up effort organized by “Kill the Spill”, founded by Byron Cleary, Kathleen Eagan and Darin Rosas was launched to help expedite saving wildlife and the environment from the devastating effects of the oil. Using a unique method of using hair mats donated by Matter of Trust and the help of hundreds of volunteers in the battle against time, oil and the environment.

Light & Motion donated light systems and head straps so that volunteers could find birds through the night that were suffering the effects of hypothermia and would otherwise perish.
